Every year, in spring, whelk lovers gather in Pirou to celebrate the launch of the whelk season. You too, come and taste this typical Normandy gastropod and enjoy the many flavors of the Normandy coast!

Whelks and seafood
are in the spotlight in Pirou

Every year, for a weekend at the end of April, the whelk is king at Pirou-Plage.

This festive moment is organized around numerous activities: sea shanties, the sale of seafood plates by the SNSM, the sale of sea products by professionals, a local market, exhibitions, a garage sale on Sunday, a funfair, a seafood evening and an open-air concert on Sunday afternoon.

Created in 1996, the Pirou whelk fair today attracts around 25 visitors who appreciate its festive and popular atmosphere.
