On the west coast, the tidal phenomenon is one of the most important in Europe. The sea recedes very far offshore and rises very high on the beach. The seaside can therefore change its face in one tide (6 hours). It is this phenomenon that makes our havens so magical and our salt marsh sheep so delicious.

Where to observe the high tides?
At high tide, take advantage of the large amplitudes to position yourself on the edge of a harbor and watch it gradually fill up.
1
The guardhouse of Saint-Germain-sur-Ay
During high tidal coefficients, the guard house finds itself surrounded by the sea. A lovely spectacle that photo enthusiasts will not fail to capture with the #cocmtourism of course !
2
The haven of Surville
It is easy to understand what a harbor is when you observe the high tides in the smallest of the harbors on the west coast of Cotentin.
3
Pointe du Becquet in Créances
Pointe du Becquet is ideal for having a beautiful view of the entire harbor of Saint-Germain-sur-Ay and the tip of the bench.
