Everyone agrees that the first image of Normandy is above all its apple trees which enhance the Norman bocage. On the West Coast, Center Channel, these hedgerows surrounding these apple trees confirm this image of Normandy. The apple has therefore become one of the flagship products of Normandy and the Channel as well. In juice, cider, calvados, cider vinegar or even for sweet recipes, the apple comes in all forms.

Le Apple juice has many health benefits. This drink, produced by extracting apple juice by cold or hot pressing, strengthens the strength of bones and teeth, can help combat insomnia and is also an excellent antioxidant.

The Cider

Cider is an alcoholic drink obtained by the fermentation of apple juice, its alcohol content is generally around 4%. Its origin dates back to Antiquity where we called it apple wine. Thanks to the invention of the press, its manufacture really began in the 12th century. It became a popular drink from the 16th century.

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar turns out to be a very good ally in the kitchen. Its taste is sour, salty and slightly sweet and fruity at the same time. It can have its place in the seasoning of salads. It is also said to be a very good grandmother's remedy.

Calvados

This brandy, obtained by distillation of cider, is a controlled designation of origin. Please note, it generally contains between 40° and 45° alcohol. It is used in particular when making the famous Normandy hole. Calvados is also perfect for flambéing dishes or desserts. It is also used in many cocktails such as apple jack.
